Marker Puck - Plastic disks
that the dealers use to mark the point on the craps table.
Mechanic - A dealer who can
peek at the top card and deal the next card if the top card is not to
his advantage.
Michigan Bankroll - A large
bankroll consisting mostly of dollar bills with a large denomination
bill on the outside.
Middles - Winning both sides of
a betting proposition.
Midnight
- Betting that the number 12 will appear on the next roll.
Mini Baccarat - A scaled down
version of baccarat, played with fewer players, dealers, and formality
but following the same rules as baccarat.
Monkey - Colloquial term for a
card with the face value of ten.
Monster Roll - A hot roll
lasting more than 20 minutes or that generates a lot of winnings for
the players.
Mop - The
stick used by the stickperson to move the dice.
Morning Line - A linemaker's
morning guess as to the probable odds on horses that are to run in
afternoon races.
Muck - In Poker, To discard or
throw away your hand.
Mudder - A horse known to favor
a muddy track.
Nailed - Caught in the act of
cheating or stealing.
Namble - Online Gambling.
Natural - Definition 1: In
Blackjack, it refers to an Ace and 10 count card. Definition 2: In
Craps, it refers to a 7 or 11 on the first roll.
Net Winnings - Total payout
minus the player's stake.
Nickel - A $500 wager.
Non Negotiable - A promotional
chip that can't be exchanged for cash.
Non Value Chip - A gaming chip
which the dollar value is determined by the amount of the buy in and
the amount of chips taken.
Nose Open - To lose control,
usually when losing and attempt to steam one's way out of the trap.
Number Pool - The range of
numbers from which the player chooses the numbers to play. A typical
lottery pool ranges from 1 to 60, and the keno pool is 1 to 80.
Number Two Man - A dealer who
can peek at the top card and deal the next card if the top card is not

Nut - Definition 1: The
overhead costs of running a casino. Definition 2: The fixed amount that
a gambler decides to win in a day.
Odds - The ratio of
probabilities or the amount a bet pays. For example 2-1, 3-2.
Odds Maker - A person who
establishes the original and subsequent betting lines.
Odds on Favorite - A horse or
competitor that is so favored that the odds are quoted as less than
even money.
